Tūranganui Bridge Concept_

LandLAB recently completed a concept design for a new pedestrian bridge in Gisborne, which reflects the unique culture and heritage of Tairāwhiti and embodies stories of navigation and journey. The proposal weaves together the act of crossing with Tarāwhiti's unique river system and waterfront context by engaging each of the river crossings as key landscape features, reference points and experiences. The curvilinear form is generated from surrounding landmarks which inform a series of new water access points and lookouts that reinforce landscape connections.
